Serving our Neighbors

"God does not need your good works but your neighbor does."

                                                                          ---  Martin Luther

We Plant.

God Grows.

It all started with the SE Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry (CO-OP), a feeding program which was housed in our parking lot. They planted a garden for their clients and we continued it when they moved to a bigger space in 2015.

We now have 21 raised beds of tomatoes, squash, Bok Choy, cucumbers, radishes, peppers, lettuce and more. Over 800 pounds of produce have been donated to the CO-OP, providing not only nutritional value but fresh taste and smiles that can't be beat.

Each year our members and the community donate to support the garden. These gifts, along with  Thrivent Action Grants, help to purchase the seeds and plants.  The garden is maintained by members, our confirmation classes, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops who meet in our building, and those in our community who need service hours. We clean up, weed, till the soil, plant, water, and rejoice in the incredible gifts of God's good earth!

We plant. God grows.

Southeastern Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry

We call them the Co-op, and they used to call our parking lot home. Now this incredible ministry stands alone and provides assistance for those in our community who are going through a rough patch. The Co-op is our partner in serving the community, and we love to volunteer and assist them in all ways.

The Co-op operates 100% on donations and depends on financial contributions by churches, individuals, and local organizations. Donations are used to fund client financial assistance, purchase food, and pay for operational expenses.

We have a drop off bin for the Co-op in our Narthex. Feel free to drop by and drop off.

ELCA Good Gifts

Have you ever wanted to give someone a pig? Or a goat? Or a hive of bees? We do, through the ELCA Good Gifts Program!

We give a goat and a family gets access to an ongoing supply of protein-packed milk and dairy products. We give our neighbors a fish, and they’ll eat for a day. We give our neighbors a community fish farm, and they’ll eat for a lifetime.

We make a difference! You can too.
